About Me

They say there are two universal languages; mathematics and body language. As a dancer educated in engineering, I speak both. Pursuing a career in new product development, I love combining my two halves to create thoughtful products to improve the world.

Born and raised in Honolulu, I danced before I could walk. Movement and feeling have always been highly intuitive throughout my cognitive process. Growing up, I found solace in the structured, repetitive 8-count that had an unlimited number of ways to move to it. The same applied to engineering, where the structured laws of physics and math lead to an unlimited number of possibilities. Graduating top of my class in Mechanical Engineering at University of the Pacific, I became a thermal engineer fascinated by its heavy analytical nature. However, I quickly became restless as my creative half was sitting idle and sought a career change. This led me on a journey through Stanford, receiving an Masters in M.E. with a concentration in Design Methodology.

Currently a Mechanical Engineer at Swope Design Solutions, I am building my mechanical knowhow through hands-on experience, consulting for a wide array of clients from consumer products to medical devices. As much as I love the diversity in our projects, I am now seeking a career where I can take ownership of a product and put my all into it; utilizing my entire spectrum of skills from design research to manufacturing.
